Used it on my truck’s curved panels and the R5 backing plate hugged every contour without any chatter. Definitely a step up from the standard flat plates I’ve been using.
The Hyper Flex Technology really does let this backing plate hug curved panels evenly — I saw noticeably less hologramming on my first pass. It’s rigid enough for correction but has just the right give for tricky body lines.
Switching to the 5-inch size made a huge difference—the Hyper Flex backing plate really hugs the panel curves without any chatter. My rotary polisher feels more controlled and the finish is noticeably more uniform.
